Non-Flammable Aerosol Flux Remover & Vapor Degreasing Fluid

Flux residue is a common byproduct of the soldering processes used in the production of PCBs and other sensitive electronics. The remaining traces of flux and/or flux activator that were not fully volatized from a component’s surface, flux residue is often acidic and can react with moisture under voltage to cause problems such as electromigration and electrical current leakage. Therefore, fast and effective flux removal is critical to any electronics manufacturing process. Flux removers are specially formulated to eliminate flux residue that remains in, on, or around electrical circuitry after soldering.

NuGenTec’s FluoSolv® BA defluxing solvent is engineered for flux removal and white residue removal. It is also highly effective as a vapor degreasing fluid.

Our solvent blending technology leverages the chemical solvency of FluoSolv® BA fluid and its physical properties—high density, low surface tension, and low viscosity—for optimal performance. Our research has shown that in order to clean metal surfaces in the shortest amount of time, a solvent must flow extremely close to the surface to “catch and release” contaminants.

What Does pH Mean for Cleaners & Degreasers?

The “pH scale” is used to note how acidic or alkaline a particular solution is, ranging from 0 (highly acidic) to 14 (highly alkaline)—7 is “pH-neutral.” The acidity or alkalinity of a solution will determine what it is best suited to cleaning. In general, more acidic cleaners are better for removing calcium, rust, minerals, etc.; more alkaline cleaners are better for removing organic materials like dirt, oil, and grease; pH neutral cleaners are best for day-to-day cleaning needs. Like dish soap, FluoSolv® BA is pH neutral

User Benefits

NuGenTec FluoSolv® BA provides an ideal balance of performance, worker safety, and eco-friendly properties.

  • Non-ozone depleting chemical (ODC)
  • Drop-in replacement; no equipment modifications
  • Low global warming potential (GWP)
  • Low toxicity; high allowable exposure limit (AEL)
  • No ceiling on instantaneous exposure
  • Chemically stable; will not go acid
  • pH neutral
  • Compatible with metals, ceramics, non-conducting materials, and most elastomers

Worker Safety

FluoSolv® BA blend has been thoroughly tested and found to have low toxicity. It has a calculated AEL (Acceptable Exposure Limit) of 335 ppm, based on its individual components. None of the ingredients in FluoSolv® BA are associated with any chronic or acute toxicity. Please refer to the (M)SDS for information on detailed exposure limits and toxicity-related data.

This degreaser and flux remover exhibits no closed cup or open cup flash point and is not classified as a flammable liquid NFPA or DOT standards. However, being volatile, vapors may become flammable in air.
