Bond-X Green - Product Guide

Bond-X Green® is a revolutionary breakthrough in the cold asphalt industry that is the only environmentally friendly cold asphalt mix. Bond-X Green® contains none of the petroleum based solvents found in traditional cold asphalt and is endorsed by the National Green Energy Council™.

Solvents found in Conventional Cold Asphalt:

• Benzene – A colorless chemical known to be a highly toxic carcinogen. Human exposure to benzene is a global health problem. Benzene targets liver, kidney, lung, heart and the brain. It can cause DNA strand breaks, and chromosomal damage. Benzene causes cancer in both animals and humans. Water and soil contamination are important pathways of concern for transmission of benzene contact. In the U.S. alone there are approximately 100,000 different sites which have benzene soil or groundwater contamination.
• Toluene – A metabolized toxic hydrocarbon once used as race car fuel. Exposure may cause disruption in the differentiation of astrocyte precursor cells and postural tremors.
• Kerosene – Commonly used as jet fuel. Vapors from Kerosene can cause asphyxiation and other respiratory ailments in humans. If ingested (groundwater) it is known to depress the central and peripheral nervous systems, cause narcosis, and cause serious pneumonitis.
• Naphthalene – A dangerous carcinogenic where vapor exposure may damage or destroy red blood cells, and cause cataracts.
• Diesel – A major source of atmospheric soot and fine particles, which is a large component of air pollution implicated in human heart and lung damage.

These solvents are carcinogenic, posing serious threats to the environment and to human health. One of the major concerns regarding these products is their Volatile Organic Compound (VOC) content. VOCs contribute to respiratory ailments, and the formation of smog. Additionally, these compounds contaminate our soil and poison our groundwater.

Bond-X Green® produces zero VOC’s when using industry standardized testing and is produced at significantly low temperatures than the conventional cold patch. It uses a biodegradable solvent which is derived from renewable and sustainable sources. They pose no threat to wild life, marine life, domestic animals, human health or the environment as a whole. The use of these solvents will further reduce our dependence on petroleum.
